Wynn Williams is adding senior lawyers Andrew Watkins and Mike Doesburg to its team.
Watkins is joining the firm’s Christchurch office on 1 December, expanding the partnership to 21. He moves from Duncan Cotterill, where he has been for 28 years, most recently as a special counsel.
The relationship property specialist will be a part of the firm’s national dispute resolution team. He has extensive experience in high-profile cases, having completed 70 successful mediations, and is regularly called on by the media to provide comment on issues. He has completed advanced negotiation and mediation courses at Harvard.
Doesburg, who joins the national resource management team as a senior associate, was most recently a senior associate at Russell McVeagh. He commences at Wynn Williams in Auckland on 19 November.
A rising star in the field, the senior associate is a finalist for this year’s Young Private Practice Lawyer of the Year award at the New Zealand Law Awards. An expert in local government and public law, he has a particular focus on advising on infrastructure, industrial, residential and coastal projects, liquor licensing, and alcohol policy. He is also experienced in complicated district and regional planning matters.
Wynn Williams recently promoted Imogen Edwards to associate. The firm appointed a new leader in August.
