A leading banking and finance lawyer is set to give the Tompkins Wake partnership a boost.
Liz Lim has joined the firm from Bell Gully, bringing with her more than 15 years’ experience in both New Zealand and the UK. Before Bell Gully, where she and Brendan Cash became the firm’s first special counsel in 2016, she was an associate at Allen & Overy in London. She has extensive experience in property and construction financing, acquisition financing, asset and lease financing, syndicated and club lending, and securitisation.
Lim will be the firm’s eighth woman partner after completing New Zealand Law Society requirements. The firm's partnership has swelled after the elevation of Marianne Mackintosh and Kate Searancke in July, as well as Campbell Stewart, Kate Cornegé, and Kate Sullivan in December.
“Liz deepens our specialist banking and finance expertise as we continue to grow in order to meet the increasingly complex and sophisticated challenges that our clients present to us,” said Phil Taylor, Tompkins Wake chair and partner.
Lim said that she is attracted to the firm’s culture and values, especially its focus on people. She said the firm is collaborative, innovative, and is focused on providing excellent client service.
