The Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Incorporated is reminding lawyers that its structure has changed, thereby also changing the way bequests must be made.
In a notice posted by the New Zealand Law Society, the country’s top animal-welfare organisation has reiterated that since 1 November 2017, the country’s approximately 40 separate centres have been incorporated as a single legal entity.
As such, all bequests must be directed to the RNZSPCA. The entity is registered as a charity with the Charities Commission, with registration number CC22705. A large number of the formerly centres are still on the Charities Commission website, the Law Society said.
The RNZSPCA is centrally managing all bequests. According to the Law Society, the organisation is requesting that the address for all matters and bequests be given as PO Box 15349, New Lynn, Auckland 0640 or 3047 Great North Road, New Lynn, Auckland 0600.
