Simpson Grierson has grown its partnership with the promotion of Nick Wilson.

Based in the firm’s Auckland office, Wilson is known for his expertise in commercial property, infrastructure, and local government property law. His practice services commercial, local-government, and public-sector clients.

Anne Callinan, who leads Simpson Grierson, said that the appointment shows the firm’s push to strengthen the partnership by recognising the work of talented lawyers, who also develop strong client relationships.

“It’s great to recognise Nick’s outstanding service to our commercial property clients with this promotion, and especially pleasing to advance and reward internal talent,” Callinan said.

Simpson Grierson also recently promoted four lawyers to senior associate.

Wilson returned to New Zealand and joined Simpson Grierson in 2010. He was previously with SNR Denton in London.

“I’m very proud to be joining the partnership of an organisation that puts people first,” Wilson said. “I am really grateful to the Simpson Grierson whanau and clients who supported my path to partnership, and look forward to supporting our future leaders in coming years.”

Wilson has a particular focus on acquisitions and disposals, subdivision and development, utility arrangements, Overseas Investment Act applications, and Public Works Act acquisitions and compensation, Simpson Grierson said.

The appointment follows that of Catherine Shirley-Brown, who joined the firm in late 2018 from the UK.
