Graeme Quigley has joined Webb Henderson as the firm’s newest corporate partner in Auckland. The top lawyer comes from Russell McVeagh in Auckland, where he spent more than 20 years as partner and served as board chair and partnership chair.

Also moving to Webb Henderson are senior solicitor Ashton Goatley and solicitor Alexandra Flaus.

Garth Sinclair, Webb Henderson partner, said Quigley brings a wealth of client relationships, management skills, and market reputation to the firm.

Quigley specialises in governance arrangements, M&A, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, inbound and outbound investment, restructuring and reorganisation, corporate advice, and commercial negotiations and contracting. His experience spans a wide range of industries, including health, pharmaceutical, and aged care; insurance; energy; oil and gas; and food production.

In a 2014 NZ Lawyer Hotlist profile, a source said that Quigley’s strength comes from his “technical ability.” He was also described as one of the people large corporates know as a “trusted adviser” who pulls in “extremely complex deals.”

He has acted for major clients including Fonterra, Pacific Equity Partners, Genesis Energy, Atradius Insurance, Primavera Capital, The Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation, Cheung Kong, and AIG insurance.
