DLA Piper is preparing to open its long-talked-about office in Dublin as Brexit draws closer.
The global firm has been considering entering the Irish legal market for some time and says that it believes the time is right to do so.
The new office will be headed by corporate partner David Carthy who joins from William Fry; and will focus initially on financial services, technology, and life sciences.
"We are delighted to become the only truly global law firm with a presence in Dublin. DLA Piper is renowned for its global footprint and commitment to high-quality service, our meritocratic and business-focused approach, innovation and diversity - all of which present significant opportunities for ambitious, talented solicitors and tax advisers in Ireland who have, or are looking to develop, an international practice,” commented global co-chair Andrew Darwin.
