The Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, recently visited the office of Hesketh Henry in Auckland.

The president and his delegation took part in the business roundtable lunch hosted by the German New Zealand Chamber of Commerce at the Hesketh Henry boardroom on 7 November.

Hesketh Henry has a strong connection to Germany. Its managing partner, Erich Bachman, is the honorary consul for Germany in Auckland.

President Steinmeier visited New Zealand at the invitation of Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy. With him were his wife, Elke Büdenbender, members of the German government and parliament, and business and civic leaders with an interest in New Zealand.

During his visit, the president talked to the governor-general and new Prime Minister Jacinta Ardern. He also visited Government House and Te Papa Tongarewa Museum of New Zealand, as well as had discussions with young people, NGOs, and business leaders.
