Firms elevate new partners

A full-service firm in the South Island has promoted a rural law expert as partner, while a North Island business law firm has elevated a property specialist to the partnership.

AWS Legal welcomes Chris Menzies, who leads the firm’s new branch office in Winton, to the partnership. In addition to rural law, Menzies also focuses on developing his client base, which primarily comprised of contract milkers and sharemilkers.

Menzies, who joined the law firm in 2010, also regularly advises on farm sale and purchase transactions, equity partnerships, shareholders agreements, and leases. He becomes the 17th partner of the firm.

Greg Smith has been promoted by Auckland firm BSA Law to partner. The property law expert, who joined the firm in 2010 after returning to New Zealand from the UK, focuses on commercial leasing, commercial development, acquisitions, and disposals. He worked in the UK for six years in both the private and public sector.
