Firms announce December 1 partner promotions

Chapman Tripp and Russell McVeagh have announced their appointments for December 2015.

Chapman Tripp
has announced the appointment of four new partners. 

Fiona Bennett and Ben Williams have been appointed in the expanding Christchurch office, Luke Hinchey has been appointed in Auckland and Tim Smith in the Wellington office.

Bennett specialises in corporate and commercial law with a focus on construction and procurement contracts, mergers and acquisitions and securities law.  Williams, a resource management and environment specialist, has expertise working in natural resources and infrastructure.
Resource management specialist Hinchey advises private and public clients on development and infrastructure projects, resource management litigation, development and financial contributions and district and regional planning processes.

“We are delighted to announce that Luke, Tim, Ben and Fiona are joining the partnership; and Mieke and Kate have been promoted to senior associates,” said managing partner Andrew Poole.
“We congratulate them all on this achievement. These appointments bring additional strength to all three offices.”
Russell McVeagh has announced the promotion of Tom Hunt and David Raudkivi, who were appointed to the firm’s partnership this week.

Hunt is a debt capital markets and financial service regulation specialist, Raudkivi works on equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and other corporate transactions. 

“'These promotions are another important step in our firm's continued progression and growth,” said CEO Gary McDiarmid.

Both have been welcomed to the firm’s partnership by National Finance Practice head John Powell and Corporate Advisory group chair David Hoare.
