has signed a lease on a new development in the Christchurch CBD.
The firm will be an anchor tenant in the new PwC Centre on the corner of Cashel Street and Cambridge Terrace, by the Bridge of Remembrance. Chapman Tripp
’s Christchurch team have been based in an alternative premises in Blenheim Road since the 2011 earthquake.
“We are excited about returning to the heart of the city,” says Christchurch partner, Andrew Woods. “We’ve remained committed to this goal since leaving the centre in 2011 and believe that the rejuvenation of the CBD is an important step in the city’s recovery.”
has maintained a presence in Christchurch for the past 15 years and Woods says the new premises will be “significantly larger” than the firm’s former location.
“We chose this building for its true central location, engineering and specifications of the highest quality and the architectural merit of the design. We have worked closely with fellow anchor tenant PwC and the company managing the development, Armitage Williams, to refine and customise the plans to meet the needs of our staff and clients.”
However, staff won’t be moving in to the new building straight away – the developer has scheduled occupancy for early to mid-2016.

and Wynn Williams
, which both announced plans to relocate into the Christchurch CBD earlier this year.
