’s national chairman, is stepping down. He will continue to lead the firm’s national employment law practice, now at a full-time capacity.
Chemis has helmed the firm for 10 years through numerous challenges, including the global financial crisis and the Christchurch earthquakes. He also reshaped its business model to adapt to the changing legal business climate in New Zealand and beyond.
Chemis also led Buddle Findlay
’s effort to enhance collaboration across the firm’s offices in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington. According to the firm, it has seen significant growth in revenue and market share under Chemis’s leadership.
Chemis is an employment law and industrial relations expert. He has been a partner at the law firm for 24 years and has advised private- and public-sector clients predominantly in the health, education, financial, energy, and transport industries on large mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and organisational changes.
