The advisory board of an academic publication on women and the law has been appointed, as the first issue of the journal is planned for release by the end of the year.

The New Zealand Women’s Journal’s advisory board members are Hon Justice Glazebrook (Supreme Court), Hon Judge AE Kiernan (District Court), Mary Scholtens QC (Stout Street Chambers), Lady Deborah Chambers QC (Bankside Chambers), Kate Davenport QC (Bankside Chambers), and Frances Joychild QC (Litigation Group), according to an announcement by the New Zealand Law Society.

The journal, sponsored by the Auckland University Law School, aims to publish articles on any domestic or international topic concerning women and gender perspective, with the objective of promoting awareness of women’s issues in the law, the organisation said. It also aims to support women in their law careers in the country. The publication is currently looking for volunteer staff to join the editorial team, with applications closing 13 March.
