Five partners at Russell McVeagh have won in the 2016 ILO Client Choice Awards.
The winners are Sarah Keene who was recognised for Competition & Antitrust, Richard McIlraith for Employment & Benefits, Sarah Armstrong for Litigation, Ed Crook for Real Estate and Craig Shrive for Telecommunications.
The awards acknowledge law firms and partners around the world who add real value to clients’ business more than others in the market can.
Only corporate counsel can nominate law firms and partners for consideration in the awards. Clients can also leave comments on the lawyers themselves on the award’s site.
Keene was praised for being “a highly credible and responsive adviser,” her commitment and for her ability to “see transactions as if she were part of the in-house team”.
Meanwhile, one client said McIlraith “can anticipate issues even before we are even aware of them” because of his “ample knowledge and past experiences”.
Armstrong was lauded by clients for her “commercial acumen”, “outstanding communication” and “excellent” legal advice.
Crook was said by a client to be “the best real estate lawyer in New Zealand by some distance” which they thought is “a view shared by general counsel across the listed-property sector”.
Shrive was praised by clients for “his pragmatic, practical and strategically appropriate” advice, “collaborative and flexible approach” and his speed identifying “key legal issues and opportunities in substantial and complex regulatory matters”.
