Wellington barrister and solicitor Joanna Holden has been appointed as a judge of the Employment Court of New Zealand.
She is currently a team manager of a Crown Law public law team, which specialises in employment law, health and safety law, public law, and judicial review.
Admitted as a barrister and solicitor in 1985, she specialised in employment law and general civil litigation. She has worked at Kensington Swan
and later at Chapman Tripp
. She joined Crown Law in 2004.
Judge Holden, who will be based in Auckland, will be sworn in on 8 September in Wellington. If they wish, counsel can robe for the 1 pm ceremonial sitting in courtroom 5.1 on level 5 of the District Court on Ballance Street, said Chief Judge Christina Inglis.
