Mai Chen's Superdiversity Stocktake has been released, highlighting the need for the law to consider the increasing number of New Zealand's ethnic groups.

    All the more reason to remember and reinforce the fact that NZ has official languages and anyone who chooses not to use them should think twice about settling here. As to 'cultural defences', we have no wish to put the clock back to an age of barbarism. Those 'defences' were ruled out in centuries (or decades) past. We don't need to consider them again.
